Securing the Infrastructure
October 3-4, 2013
VA Scan exists for the purpose of strengthening information technology security programs within the Commonwealth of Virginia. IT managers, IT security professionals, technical staff, and auditors from Higher Education, K-12, Government, and Law Enforcement are all encouraged to attend this very informative conference. Register now as an attendee or check out our sponsorship opportunities!
The 2013 conference theme is "Securing the Infrastructure”. Our networks have changed from client\server connectivity for file and print services, to being the host for a variety of critical services, including fire alarms, police department services, key controls, sensors, SCADA or building controls, steam plan controls, VoIP, virtualized infrastructures, as well as critical business services and increasing hosted services maintaining sensitive data. As the services change on our networks, security considerations must change to meet the changing landscape. This conference will emphasize these changes to our networks, the growing service impact of network unavailability, evolution of assessing risks, developing IDM practices, and other topics relative to maintaining a secure infrastructure.
The SANS course will cover a condensed version of Virtualization Security Fundamentals. Click here to find out more!
