Project Management at ODU

In today's world, where projects need to be done yesterday with the few resources that we have, it is vital that a common methodology is shared across all projects.

“Just Enough Project Management”

Project Management is the discipline of planning, organizing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project.  Our philosophy is to right-size project management with the project.  Our focus is on the overall business value rather than complicated charts, cumbersome graphs and bureaucratic paperwork.

OCCS uses a project management approach that is structured to be what is necessary to get the job done right, on time, and within budget.

Why Follow a Project Management Methodology?

  • It is a proven “best practice” for project success.
  • It keeps ODU compliant with the Higher Education Finance and Operations Restructuring Act which requires the University to establish, maintain and operate under Project Management.
  • It improves communication and customer satisfaction.
