Migration from Notes to Exchange is currently under way. Administrative offices are being migrated between now and September, and academic offices will follow. Please remember that before your office can be migrated to Exchange, you must first receive the Office 2007 deployment.

Benefits of deploying Microsoft Office first:

 There are significant enhancements to functionality in the new office suite and in particular the integration of Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007.

 The new Office suite includes a number of integration components for other services such as Office Communications Server, SharePoint Server and an active presence.

 The Office suite is being pre-deployed to allow faculty/staff to become familiar with the new look and feel of the base Office suite applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).  The Office 2007 suite is significantly different than the older suites (i.e. the "Ribbon"). In addition to the Office 2007 suite, all users will have "help" suites available in their Novell Application Launcher.  These will provide assistance in transitioning from the 2003 to 2007 suites.

 Office 2007 has been included in the Microsoft Campus Agreement for the University and is a no charge upgrade for everyone.

Note: Office 2007 is not compatible with Windows 2000 Professional (desktop OS). It will only be deployed to those running Windows XP. Those that have Windows 2000 as their desktop should have Office 2003 on their desktop.
